Jobs related with ByoDyn development and application
The Computational Biochemistry and Biophysics Laboratory (CBBL) at the Research Unit on Biomedical Informatics (GRIB) is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher who has a deep interest in mathematical and computational developments in the broad field of systems biology related to its biomedical application.
The candidate will participate in the framework of the FP6 EC-funded STREP project BioBridge. The project aims to create tools for interfacing omics and clinical data for complex diseases, like COPD, through simulation. His/her tasks will involve the further development of our software tool for the study of large kinetic data, ByoDyn. The profile of the candidate is wide, including researchers coming from engineering fields, but deep knowledge of Python and/or Modelica object oriented programming and on bindings to other programming languages is required. Experience on code parallelization is a plus. The work will be related to the implementation of parameter estimation and optimal design tools for metabolic networks modelling. MSc holders with appropriate CVs will also be considered.
Although funding is guaranted for 1.5 years, own initiatives to obtain an external fellowship will be strongly supported.
The GRIB/UPF is part of the new Barcelona Biomedical Research Park which, with a privileged location on the shoreline of the Mediterranean sea, constitutes one of the most exciting interdisciplinary research centres in South Europe in one of the fastest growing biomedical research regions in the area.
To apply, please, send us by e-mail a statement of interest, your CV and the name of two referees to whom we may contact for details. Please, indicate ByoDyn/BioBridge in your application.
